KSRTC to operate more services to meet holiday rush

Bangalore: In view of the holidays for various festivals, including Deepavali and Ramzan, from October 20 to 24, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate additional bus services to Dharmasthala, Shimoga, Belgaum, Kukke Subramanya, Karwar, Mangalore, Kumta, Sagar, Bellary, Raichur, Gulbarga, Sringeri, Horanadu and Gokarna from the Kempe Gowda Bus Station here.

According to a press release, 70 additional Volvo, Mayura, Rajahamsa, and semi-deluxe services will be operated on long-distance routes. As many as 250 Karnataka Sarige buses will be operated to places such as Kukke Subramanya, Dharmasthala, Horanadu, Sringeri and Shimoga. These buses will start from the main entrance of the Kempe Gowda Bus Station.

A total of 150 additional buses will be operated to places in the jurisdiction of the North-west and North-east KRTC such as Belgaum, Gokarna, Hubli, Sirsi, Karwar, Bijapur, Bellary, Raichur, Gulbarga, Gangavathi and Hospet. These buses will start from the service road of the BMTC Bus Station facing the main entrance of the Kempe Gowda Bus Station.

Additional buses to Mysore will start from the Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station in Byatarayanapura. Over 25 mini-buses will be operated exclusively to places near Bangalore from the Kempe Gowda Bus Station and the Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station. Buses to Tamil Nadu will start from the new alighting platform at the Kempe Gowda Bus Station, opposite Shantala Silks and Saris. Buses to Andhra Pradesh will start from platform numbers 14 and 15 of the Kempe Gowda Bus Station.

Reservation counters

For long-distance KSRTC services tickets can be booked at 104 reservation counters in Bangalore. A 10 per cent discount will be offered if onward and return journey tickets are booked simultaneously.
