`Prevention of Iodine Deficiency Disorder Day' observed

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike's City Health Research and Training Centre on Thursday observed "Prevention of Iodine Deficiency Disorder Day".

Assistant Director of the National Institute for Public Cooperation and Child Development Naveed Khatun inaugurated the programme and made a presentation on iodine and nutritious food to schoolchildren.

The programme included a demonstration on iodine and nutritious food, competitions such as painting, quiz and poster making for schoolchildren.

Fifty children from various schools participated in the competitions.

A book exhibition was organised by Nava Karnataka Book House.
