Chennai: Sikkim blanked Chandigarh 7-0 in a Group `A' match of the 29th sub-junior National football championship, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. Daivagya Sharma scored three goals for Sikkim in the 67th, 72nd and 90th minutes. Bijendra Rai scored a brace at the 65th and the 87th minute, while Nimawangdhi Lepcha struck in the 89th minute. Zigmee Swangchuk started the proceedings for Sikkim, netting one in the 15th minute. Mizoram beat Karnataka 5-0 in another Group `A' match, which saw a flurry of yellow cards (seven). R. Malsawmtluanga found the target in the 27th and the 30th minute, while Lalhlimpuia struck in the 32nd and the 77th minute. David Lalrinmuana scored one in the last minute of the game. Saturday's Group B encounter saw West Bengal thrash Madhya Pradesh 7-0, with Mithun Saha scoring the tournament's first hat-trick (18th, 19th and 22nd). Ajay Mullick scored two goals in the 35th and the 80th minute, while Joy Deb Haldar and Sanath Dhali struck in the 50th and the 60th minutes respectively. Arunachal Pradesh beat Tamil Nadu 2-1. Tokotasaph struck early in the seventh minute, while Pani Raju netted one in the 73rd minute for Arunachal Pradesh. Tamil Nadu's lone goal came from R. Balaji in the 86th minute.
