MEG `B' wins

BANGALORE: Madras Engineering Group `B' pounded Flying Hockey Club 8-1 in the State `A' division league hockey tournament here on Sunday.

Ponappa (1st, 4th), Samson Fernandes (26th, 27th both penalty corners) scored a double each while Monappa, (33rd), Bopanna (42nd) Preethive Shetty (44th) and A.M. Bopanna (50th) also scored for the winner. Flying Hockey Club's goal was scored by Dharmendra (50th).

Sports Authority of India `B' notched up a 5-0 win over Coorg Hockey Association with Samuel Niranjan (11th and 37th), Rajan (5th), Harish Ponappa (9th) and Chandra Verma (32nd) scoring.

In the last match of the day, Dhanraj Ballal Hockey Academy and Army Service Corps `B' played out a 2-2 draw. Saad Ahmed Khan (3rd) and Mario Kasi (11th) scored for DBHA and Limbus (20th) and Harvinder Singh (51st) scored for ASC `B'.
