Bangalore: Asia's premier exposition `India Organic-2006' will be held at the Palace Grounds here from November 9 to 12. The organic fair is being jointly hosted by Bangalore-based NGO International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA), the National Centre for Organic Farming attached to the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Rajasthan-based Morarka Organic. "India has over 200 million potential customers for organic products and a domestic market of about Rs. 600 crore. The world market for organic food ingredients is estimated to be worth $35 billion and is growing at more than 8 per cent annually," Ramesh Harve, ICCOA president, told presspersons here on Wednesday. The fair will have a common platform for buyers and sellers of organic produce to strike deals, share initiatives and exchange know-how. Farmers from the north-eastern region will exhibit various exotic organic products from the seven States in the region during the fair, Mr. Harve said.
