VISAKHAPATNAM: All trains passing through the Visakhapatnam railway station will be diverted via Duvvada with effect from November 1 due to the non-interlocking work to be taken up from that day, according to divisional commercial manager M.A. Haque of the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway. However, those trains originating in and terminating at Visakhapatnam would be operated from the Visakhapatnam railway station itself . Trains passing through Visakhapatnam would stop at the Duvvada, Kothavalasa and Vizianagaram stations.
Non-interlocking
The period of diversion of trains via Duvvada would be notified a few days after the work on non-interlocking commenced, after gauging the time to be taken to complete the work, Mr. Haque said.
Arrangements in place
Arrangements were made at the Duvvada station for transportation of Visakhapatnam-bound passengers by road from Duvvada and also from Visakhapatnam, for the passengers to board trains at Duvvada. Earlier, the non-interlocking work was proposed to be taken up from October 25 to November 10 but was postponed for some unavoidable reasons.
