Youngsters aged 18 to 25 with work experience have an opportunity to visit Germany for a month and get trained in their chosen profession while staying with a German family in that country.

These youngsters not only learn about the work culture in that country but also gain exposure to the country's culture.

The Rotary Overseas Vocational Exchange programme is an initiative that involves Rotary International district 3230, India, and Rotary International district 1870, Germany.

Two youngsters — Niveditha Subbiah, a law graduate, and Aashirwad Ahluwalia, who trained in the hospitality industry — went to Germany between July and August.

Next year, a German youngster will intern at a private English news channel.

Vinod Prasanna, who makes home furniture, will shortly leave for Germany.

On UN Day, observed on Tuesday, Niveditha shared her working experience at a law firm in Stuttgart with members of the Rotary Club of Ambattur.

The club played a key role in the project.

She has also been appointed as the firm's representative to take care of their international cases.
