New flight

Air Deccan will launch daily flights from Bangalore to Vizag from October 30. The flight will leave Bangalore at 10.30 a.m. and reach Vizag at 1.30 p.m. In the return direction, it will leave Vizag for Bangalore at 1.55 p.m.

Drowned boy washed ashore

The body of V. Sravan Kumar, 15, who drowned on Wednesday in the sea near Ramakrishna Beach, washed ashore at the Coastal Battery on Thursday morning.

It was handed over to his parents after inquest and post mortem, police said.

Steps to prevent drowning cases

To prevent drowning incidents in the sea, Police Commissioner V.S.K. Kaumudi on Thursday ordered putting up more boards at RK Beach warning people against venturing into the sea.

Also those who cannot swim will be cautioned on the public address system. Warning will also be made when the sea is rough to avoid tragedy.

More swimmers will be kept ready at RK Beach while six boards will be put up at Rishikonda beach too and three swimmers stationed there.

Mr. Kaumudi also proposed erection of five watchtowers.
