NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic Police have announced certain restrictions in view of the annual Jagannath Yatra procession that will begin and terminate at Mahavir Vatika in Central Delhi on Friday. According to the traffic police, the procession will start from Mahavir Vatika and travel via Nukkad Faiz Bazar, wrong side of Subhas Marg, Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Road, Ajmeri Gate, Shradhanand Marg, Khari Baoli, Fatehpuri Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Subhas Marg and Nukkad Faiz Bazar before returning to Mahavir Vatika. The police have asked motorists to avoid Subhas Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, Chandni Chowk and the Walled City of Delhi area from 1 p.m. onward. Those headed for Old Delhi railway station from South Delhi and New Delhi can take Ring Road, Chhatta Rail and Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Marg to reach the station. Those going to New Delhi railway station from North Delhi and Central Delhi can take Rani Jhansi Marg, Panchkuian Road and Chelmsford Road. The traffic police have advised commuters to avail of the services of the Delhi Metro and also resort to car-pools to reduce congestion.
