Bangalore: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, while referring to the role of his son in connection with Thursday's incident at a hotel, has said that it is a reflection on the standard of life in the city. Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that he was not embarrassed about the incident, and that he had not spoken about it with his son. Meanwhile, Home Minister M.P. Prakash described it as a case of juvenile delinquency. Echoing Mr. Kumaraswamy's view, he said that the brawl would not have any adverse impact on the party. On why the police officers had not taken action against those allegedly involved in the vandalism at the hotel while they had acted swiftly in the Adam Bidapa (son of fashion designer Prasad Bidapa) case, Mr. Prakash said the two incidents were different. While, Adam Bidapa had been charged with attacking the police and was immediately arrested, the miscreants in the case related to the attack on the hotel had left the place soon after the incident. Moreover, the hotel owner had not identified the miscreants and the police were still investigating the case, he said. He advised the media not to question the bona fides of the police and blow the incident out of proportion. Mr. Prakash clarified that he had not resigned as president of the State unit of the Janata Dal (Secular). He had requested party supremo H.D. Deve Gowda to relieve him of the post as he was unable to do justice to the work and had told him to entrust the responsibility to other leader.
