Flowers are a thing of beauty, but if kept in a polythene packet and abandoned in an area where security is tight, and that too in an airport, it may be considered a potential threat. Security personnel at the Anna International Airport did not want to take any chances, especially when the Governor was scheduled to attend a function there. As soon as such a packet was sighted on a chair, a security personnel brought the necessary equipment and had it thoroughly checked and removed. Presspersons and photographers who were given a "daily permit" by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and carried an invitation to the function were also not allowed to go beyond a point even after they were checked at three points.
