KOLKATA: Subhash Group, engaged in engineering construction and project management, has decided to foray into the port sector. The group's first project will be to convert a small shallow water port in Puducherry into a deepwater port to handle container, bulk and liquid cargoes. The Rs. 2,100 crore project will be developed as an equal joint venture between group company Subhash Project and Marketing Ltd (SPML) and Om Metals, which is also involved in a gamut of activities, including turnkey contract execution, says a company release.
