Induction of Ambareesh as Minister hailed

BANGALORE: The Vokkaliga Forum of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has realised the role of the Vokkaliga and Lingayat communities in bringing the party back to power in the State.

Forum president and All-India Congress Committee member T.V. Maruthi told presspersons here on Saturday that Ms. Gandhi took the right step by inducting the party MP for Mandya, Ambareesh, into the Union Ministry as Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting.

Encouraged by Ms. Gandhi's gesture, the forum would make all efforts to bring the party back to power in the State. Members would tour the State and hold meetings in each district to strengthen the party, he said.
