Shankar sets record

PUDUKOTTAI: N. Shankar of SDAT Throws Academy, with a heave of 15.47m, set a new meet record in shot put in the boys under-16 section at the 20th Tamil Nadu State junior athletic championship conducted by the Pudukottai District Athletic Association here on Thursday.

The results:

Boys:U-20: 10,000m: 1. R. Rajesh (St. Joseph's PSA, 34:10.09s), 2. K. Keerthivasan (Nilgris), 3. P. Rajesh (St. Joseph's PSA). Discus: 1. M. Dandayuthapani (SDAA, 41.09m), 2. M. Vinod Kumar (SDAA), 3. R. Ramadoss (SDAA).
