Corporator's charge

Following the suicide attempt by a woman corporator who was unable to bear the harassment by her local MLA on Monday, Lalitha Srinivasa Gowda, corporator from Srinagar and chairperson of Taxation and Finance Committee of the BMP, has also alleged that she too faced similar problems with her local MLA.

On Saturday, after a press conference, Ms. Gowda spoke of her troubles with her local MLA K. Chandrashekar. "We have finished development works in the ward worth Rs. 20 crore and they were to be inaugurated tomorrow. But the MLA put pressure on an official and made him write to the commissioner saying that the works had not been completed," she alleged.
