KURNOOL:
A married Chechu woman was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped near Pathamadugula in Kothapalli mandal on Wednesday night while she along with her husband was returning to their hamlet. Five persons allegedly beat up her husband and assaulted the women sexually. Special Correspondent

Konathala Appalanarasamma, mother of Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna, passed away on Thursday at her residence in Anakapalle. She was 81 and is survived by three sons and three daughters. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, APCC chief K. Keshav Rao and Ministers called up Mr. Ramakrishna to convey their condolences.
