Alleged suicide by PG student in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD : A first-year post- graduate student of the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) at Gachibowli, who allegedly consumed poison in her hostel room on the campus on Thursday night, died in Apollo Hospitals at Jubilee Hills on Friday morning.

Twenty-two-year-old Ashima Dhawan of Delhi, an M.Sc. Biotechnology student, began vomiting on Thursday night.

"We do not know what exactly happened," Ashima's father Anil Dhawan said here.

The police were investigating whether Ashima's alleged secret marriage to an MBA student in Delhi had any connection with the alleged suicide. The body was handed over to the parents after postmortem .
