CHENNAI: CYS Multimedia, a city-based centre for training multimedia professionals, will open a Rs.25 crore production facility soon.

It will focus on areas such as gaming, design, 2D animation and e-publishing, said Chief Executive Officer C.Y. Sathya on Monday.

"We are in the process of recruiting 50 people, and will launch the facility at our T. Nagar branch in January 2007," said Mr. Sathya, on the sidelines of his institute signing a memorandum of understanding with Singapore-based AV8 Media, which specialises in providing systems and solutions in the field of digital content creation.

Under the partnership, the Singapore company would also provide training and employment opportunities to students of the Adobe certified institute, which has two centres — one at T. Nagar and the other at Adyar.

It has two more branches coming up at Vadapalani and Anna Nagar.

Mr. Sathya said that his institute will open branches in Tiruchi, Coimbatore and one more in Chennai soon.

The institute would also offer a one-year course focussing on the needs of information technology and IT enabled services.
