Five students of Poomangalam U.P. School in Kannur have become experts in beekeeping. They are now on a mission to popularise apiculture in their village through demonstration sessions. Steps are already on to start a beekeeping unit in the school. The students learned the techniques from beekeepers in the Panniyur village here. They prepared a project report and presented it before other students. The project was prepared by K. Rajilal and Ajay Moncy with the help of K. Nidhinraj, T. Sujaya and E.R. Rajitha. The report says that 75 per cent of honey consumed in the village last year was produced from outside.
