Man allegedly kills sister, brother

NEW DELHI: A young man allegedly stabbed his sister and younger brother to death at their Mukherjee Nagar residence in North-West Delhi on Tuesday. The police suspect that the accused, who is still at large, committed the murders as he was opposed to his sister getting married.

According to the police, it all happened around 8-30 a.m. when an argument broke out between Munish (25), his younger brother Anil (22) and sister Preety (18) over the issue of her marriage. At that time, their elder brother Satish Yadav had gone out to distribute invitation cards for the marriage on December 5.

While Munish vanished from the scene after the stabbings, the victims were taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

A case of murder has been registered at the Mukherjee Nagar police station and a hunt launched for Munish, who worked as an electrician.

Woman found murdered

NEW DELHI: The 52-year-old wife of an India Trade Promotion Organisation manager was found dead under highly mysterious circumstances at her Pitampura residence in North-West Delhi on Monday night. The police suspect it to be a case of robbery-cum-murder.

The incident came to light around 8-30 p.m. when A.M. Vadi, who is associated with the ongoing India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan, returned home and found his wife Shrilata lying unconscious near the entrance. He rushed her to Jaipur Golden Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Initial investigation revealed that there was some ransacking in the house and Ms. Vadi's diamond-studded earrings were found missing.

A forensic team picked up fingerprints from the spot for further investigations. The police suspect that Ms. Vadi was strangled as there were ligature marks around her neck.

The police have registered a case and picked up two domestic helps, Babita and Asha, for questioning.

Woman abducted

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted at gunpoint by at least four people from her Uttam Nagar residence in West Delhi on Tuesday. A hunt has been launched for the culprits.

Jageer Kaur, the mother of Satinder, alleged that four men entered her house when she and her three daughters were having breakfast around 7-30 a.m. They locked up Ms. Kaur in a room at gunpoint. They then allegedly gagged Satinder and took her away.

A local resident said the assailants had come in two Maruti cars. Ms. Kaur accused one Sanjay of having masterminded her daughter's abduction.

Although the police have registered a case of abduction on the basis of the complaint, they said Satinder had earlier eloped with Sanjay this June. "We had registered a case after her mother alleged that she had been abducted by Sanjay, but the woman later turned up and submitted in the court that she had gone with Sanjay on her own. Sanjay runs a placement agency at Nangloi and Satinder used to work there," said a senior police officer.
