Capacity in Chennai has gone up to 1,750 seats

CHENNAI: Intelenet Global Services, a BPO (business process outsourcing) company floated jointly by HDFC and Barclays, has opened its second unit here with the inauguration of its delivery centre at Prince Info Park in Ambattur.

This centre comes up within six months of setting up its first centre here. Following this, Intelenet's capacity in Chennai has gone up to 1,750 seats.

The new centre spans across 72,500 sq.ft. It has a capacity of 1,050 seats. It will offer a mix of customer service, back-office operations and accounting services.

It is designed to offer a wide range of facilities to the employees, ensuring a world-class working environment.

Intelenet Global Services had unveiled a 700-seater centre at Ascendas in May early this year. The company expects to grow its current head count of 1,100 people in Chennai to more than 2,500 employees by end of next year. This will make Chennai a significant delivery destination for Intelenet.

In a release, Mr. Susir Kumar, CEO, said, "Intelenet has aggressive growth plans and the new Chennai facility will enable us to accommodate this high pace of growth."
