MUMBAI: The Rupee continued its rising trend against the U.S. currency and ended sharply higher at Rs 44.69/70 a dollar on Thursday due to weak dollar in the overseas market, increased dollar sales and sustained inflow from foreign institutional investors into the stock market. In a quiet trade at the interbank foreign exchange (forex) market, the Indian unit resumed sharply higher at Rs 44.70/71 against Wednesday's close of 44.7950/8050 and thereafter, rose further to end at Rs 44.69/70. The fall in dollar value against its major global rivals, helped the Indian unit to gain further ground on increased dollar sales, forex dealers said. PTI
