Garment unit launched at college

Students urged to become entrepreneurs in future

TIRUCHI : The Department of Fashion Technology and Costume Designing and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College in association with the Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development (TIDITSSIA STED) launched a garment unit at the college recently.

The chairman of the TIDITSSIA STED, S. Sridharan, inaugurated the unit at a function held at the college and handed over order for stitching shirts to the Principal, K. Meena.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sridharan said it would be run under the `Earn While You Learn' scheme with the help of TIDITSSIA STED.

He advised the students to utilise the opportunity and become entrepreneurs in future.

In her presidential address, Ms. Meena said not only the students of fashion technology, but also students from other departments too were keen in joining the scheme.

The vice-president of the TIDITSSIA STED, N. Kanagasabapathy, observed that the scheme would help the young students to become successful entrepreneurs in future.

The Project Director of the TIDITSSIA STED, C. Ramaswamy, assured all assistance for the successful running of the garment unit.
