Bangalore: Stigma and discrimination have been affecting the morale of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country. In an effort to highlight these problems, a thematic theatre presentation titled `Jeeva, Jeevana Nammadu', will be staged on December 2 as a part of International AIDS Day (December 1). The play to be staged at Ravindra Kalakshetra is the first of its kind in Karnataka that will have persons who are HIV positive participating along with amateur artistes. The theme is stigma and discrimination faced by people with HIV. Providing details to presspersons here on Tuesday, Shamantha of Saarathi, a resource centre for communications, said the thematic presentation was a joint effort of Saarathi and Action Aid International. The discrimination faced by HIV-positive persons was not restricted to developing nations such as India.
