Driver robbed of Rs. 1 lakh

MANGALORE: Unidentified armed men robbed Ganesh Kulal, driver of a prominent Kumta-based jeweller, Mohan Shet, of Rs. 1 lakh when he came to deliver it to Shukur at a flat on Alvares Road in the Mangalore East (Kadri) police station limits around 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the police, Mr. Ganesh, a resident of Bantwal, delivered cash to people. Additional Superintendent of Police B.S. Lokesh Kumar said Mr. Ganesh had come with the cash, which was to be handed over to Mr. Shukur. However, when Mr. Ganesh reached the lift of the flat, three men stopped him and snatched the bag.
