BANGALORE: The security guard of an ICICI Bank's ATM counter in High Grounds police station limits was seriously injured after a man attacked him with a chopper on Tuesday night. The police said that around 11 p.m., the assailant threw chilly powder on Raj Kumar (26) when he was on duty at the ATM centre on North Park Road, off Shivananda Circle, and hit him on the head with a chopper. He abandoned the chopper and ran away. On hearing Mr. Kumar's screams, security guards of the adjoining business establishments informed the police and rushed him to a hospital. Mr. Kumar is a native of B. Mudhol in Aurad taluk of Bidar district. He joined a private security agency five months ago and was posted at the ATM centre from the past two months.
Killed in accident
Two persons were killed in road accidents in the city on Tuesday night. Yogesh (26) was killed after a lorry hit his motorcycle on the Outer Ring Road, off Goruguntepalya, around 11.45 p.m. Yogesh, a native of Shimoga, worked as a sales executive in a private company here. He was a resident of Jalahalli. In a similar incident, Manjunath (32) was killed after a lorry rammed his motorcycle on 15th Cross, 6th Phase, J.P. Nagar, around 9 p.m. Manjunath, a native of Bellary, was employed as an accountant in a private firm here. He was a resident of Chunchagatta on Kanakapura Road.
