ALAPPUZHA: The reforms introduced by former Minister for Education Nalakath Soopy in the higher secondary schools is the primary reason for ego clashes between headmasters and Principals in the schools in the State, Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran has said. He was inaugurating the Alappuzha district higher secondary schools youth festival at Leo XIII HSS here on Thursday. Ego clashes between head masters, who were in charge of the high school section, and Principals, who controlled the Plus Two division, in several higher secondary schools vitiated the atmosphere there, Mr. Sudhakaran said. The Minister said the Left Democratic Front Government would attempt to revert to the old system of separating Plus Two from schools to solve the problem. He stressed the need for unity to ensure progress. Such ego clashes would harm society, he added. Alappuzha municipal chairman P.P. Chitharanjan presided over the function. Alappuzha MLA K.C. Venugopal and Alappuzha bishop Stephen Athipozhi spoke.
