Civic body goes on `alms seeking'

ANANTAPUR: Members of Tadipatri Municipal Council led by Chairperson E.C. Venkataramana and Vice-Chairperson J.C. Prabhakar Reddy went on `alms seeking' in the industrial town in the district on Saturday to raise funds for purchasing an earthmover for the civic body.

An earthmover owned by the civic body was burnt by miscreants on November 17 as it was removing encroachments in the town. It is learnt that Mr. Reddy himself donated Rs. 5 lakhs while people donated another Rs. 5.5 lakhs. The civic body is planning go for a new earthmover by mobilising donations.
