Two-day convention on advertising

  • Convention to discuss changing dynamics of the industry
  • More than 200 delegates expected to participate

    CHENNAI: The Advertising Club of Madras will organise a two-day international convention as part of its golden jubilee celebrations on January 20 and 21, 2007, Club president Ranju Kumar Mohansaid here on Tuesday.

    Speaking to journalists, Mr. Mohan said the convention, with the theme "Integrated Communication - Disintegrated Agencies", will discuss the changing dynamics of the advertising industry.

    Participants

    Kiran Khalap, Co-Founder, Chlorophysll; Sujatha Kesavan, Managing Director; Ray+Kesavan; Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director, Madison Communication; V. Ramani, vice-chairman, Connecturf and Leena Basrur, Managing Director, DIREM, are expected to participate in the inaugural day function.

    Asit Mehra, Executive Vice President, Omnicom Group Inc, will deliver the keynote address followed by a lecture by Jagdish Sheth, Marketing Professor, University of Emory. R. Gopalakrishnan, Executive Director, Tata Sons Ltd., and Christopher, Chairman, BBDO - Asia Pacific, Singapore, are expected to participate in the valedictory session, Mr. Mohan said.

    Vijay K. Xavier, conference convenor and Associate Vice President, Lowe, said more than 200 delegates are expected to participate in the programme.

    Commemorative volume

    A commemorative volume tracing the history of the Advertising Club of Madras and the history of the advertising industry in South India will also be released on the occasion.
