Display of budding talent at cultural fete



CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA: National Public School, Koramangala, held `Ahan 2006' recently.

BANGALORE: Florence Public School, RT Nagar, hosted "Spoorti 2006," an inter-school literary and cultural fest, on the school premises recently.

Participants showcased their talent by competing in the various events. Pick and speak, painting, "mehendi" design, flower arrangement, quiz, and contemporary dance were some of the competitions lined up. "Chand, chanda and chandini", a thematic singing competition, was introduced at this year's fest. It gave the audience a chance to listen to old melodies. A special event was held to commemorate "Suvarna Karnataka." celebrations. "Anthakshari" was organised for teachers.

Athletic meet

St. Thomas Public School, New Tippasandra, conducted its annual athletic meet recently. Water Polo national player Eekshitha Prasad was the chief guest and she declared the meet open. She stressed the need to maintain a balance between sports and academics.

Quiz contest

Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Raja Rajeshwari Nagar, conducted an inter-school quiz competition on environment recently. Students of Swargarani School emerged the winner in the contest.

Cultural diversity

National Public School, Koramangala, held its second cultural extravaganza, "Ahan 2006," last week. The theme of the fete was "Tales from Around the World."
