Bangalore: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh on a restaurant on Brigade Road and ordered the closure of another restaurant for not maintaining hygiene on their premises. The restaurants also did not produce licence, the BMP has said. BMP Commissioner K. Jairaj ordered that the spill over works of the Multi Purpose Engineering Department be completed by December 30. He also ordered upgrading buildings in the offices of the 30 assistant revenue officers, developing record rooms at the zonal level, conducting inspection of all palike schools and colleges to provide basic infrastructure and to conduct survey of all community halls in the BMP limits.
