Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Mylapore and Foreshore Estate areas.

Pensioners' meet

Chennai Collector R. Jaya will convene a pensioner grievance redressal meeting on January 30. The meeting is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the Collector's office and will take up complaints relating to pensionary benefits of State Government pensioners and family pensioners belonging to Chennai district.

Retired Government staff and family pensioners should send their grievances in duplicate to the Collector of Chennai, `Singara Velar Maligai', 62, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-01 on or before December 15.

Meet on VAT

All India Manufacturers Organisation (AIMO) will organise a seminar on Value Added Tax on Saturday at Hotel Benzz Park.

The objective of the meet, which starts at 9 a.m., is to encourage industry representatives to interact with a panel of experts that includes the joint commissioner of commercial taxes (VAT Cell).

Japanese language classes
