BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday took a petitioner to task and levied costs of Rs. 10,000 on him for filing, what it said, is a frivolous case. The petitioner company said that it was the owner of a property in Yeshwanthpur hobli on Tumkur Road in Bangalore. It had moved the court claiming compensation for asphalting roads within its property by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP). It had questioned the BMP's action stating that the palike had asphalted the roads without even acquiring land or resorting to acquisition proceedings.
Petition dismissed
Justice Rammohan Reddy dismissed the petition and levied costs on the petitioner for forming a layout without approval and approaching the court for compensation for roads asphalted by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.
