Sanatamba, Belsri champions

KOLKATA: Assam archers held sway on the opening day of the three-day 29th junior National archery championships at Gangtok on Thursday.

Belsri Narzary won the girls' individual championship, while the boys' individual title went to Th. Sanatamba Singh of Manipur.

The results: Boys: 1. Th. Sanatamba Singh (Mani) 666 points, 2. Dwimalu Boro (Asm) 657, 3. Pankaj Das (Asm) 652. Team: 1. Assam 1943, 2. Manipur 1901, 3. Jharkhand 1891.

Girls: 1. Belsri Narzary (Asm) 661, 2. L. Geetanjali Devi (Mani) 642, 3. P. Lily Devi (SAI) 640. Team: 1. Assam 1894, 2. SAI 1864, 3. Manipur 1863.
