Property recovered

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has recovered encroached property worth Rs. 1 crore in Banashankari 2nd Stage, Chennamma Tank Bed area layout, on Saturday. Through its routine operation of clearing encroachments on BDA property, all unauthorised constructions that had come up on a civic amenity site measuring 496.97 sq m allotted to Post and Telegraphs Department at Banashankari 2nd Stage, and AC sheet sheds which had come up on three sites of 20 X 30 dimension each at Banashankari 2nd Stage were removed and recovered.

Cash stolen

Some people broke into a BWSSB kiosk at Nandidurga Layout on Friday night and took away cash and cheques.

According to the police, the culprits entered the board's 24-hour bill payment counter when the watchman was asleep and made away with Rs. 19,140 in cash and cheques.

Exhibition

A five-day buyers-sellers meet and exhibition on hand-made paper and fibre industry, sponsored by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, opened here on Saturday.

The exhibition is being held at Chandrasagar Kalyana Mahal, T. Mariyappa Road, Jayanagar II Block. It is on till December 20.
