Krishnagiri: The State Government has allotted Rs. 3.26 crore under the Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development scheme to upgrade, repair and lay new roads in Krishnagiri district, said the Project Officer of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), J. Sampath, here on Monday. Under the scheme, 18 roads to a length of 38.7 km would be laid in the panchayat unions of Thally, Kelamangalam, Kaveripattinam, Krishnagiri, Hosur, Shoolagiri, Uthangkarai, Bargur, Mathur and Veppanapalli in the current year.
Tenders finalised
Tenders had been finalised and the road improvement works would begin shortly, the Project Officer said. In addition, road improvement works to the tune of Rs. 6 crore would be taken up under the MLA Constituency Development Fund in Krishnagiri town, he said.
