Thiruvananthapuram colleges lead in youth fete

Vishnu Gopal, Divya Nair vie for honours

ALAPPUZHA: Vishnu Gopal of Medical college, Thiruvananthapuram, and Divya R. Nair of Mar Baseliose College, Thiruvananthapuram, are in the lead for Kala Prathibha and Kala Thilakam titles respectively in the Kerala University Youth Festival at Mararikkulam in the district. The festival will conclude on Tuesday.

Colleges from Thiruvananthapuram continued to top the winners list on the fourth day of the festival too. But competitors from colleges from Kollam and Alappuzha also won a significant number of prizes on Monday.

Antony Patrick of Mar Baseliose College, Thiruvananthapuram, won the first prize in Wind Instrument (Western) category. Rojo of Sree Swati Thirunal College of Music, Thiruvananthapuram, won the second prize in the event and Anil Idikkula Mathew of Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara, finished third.

In the Debating competition (Malayalam), Government College of Education, Thiruvananthapuram, won the first prize and Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, got the second prize. The third prize in the event went to Law Academy law college, Thiruvananthapuram.

Fathima Mata National College, Kollam, won the first prize in competitions in mime event. T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha and St. Michle's College, Cherthala won the second and third prize respectively in the event.

S.N. College for Women, Kollam, won the first prize in Thiruvathira competitions. The second prize in the event went to Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, and NSS Women's College, Karamana, won the third prize in the event.

In the tabala competitions, M.P. Arun Raj of Sree Swati Thirunal College of Music, Thiruvananthapuram, won the first prize.
