Jail term for NIN former Director

HYDERABAD: Vinodini Reddy, former Director, National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), has been convicted by the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad, of misappropriation of funds and abuse of official position. HYDERABAD: The Telangana Regional Congress Coordination Committee is planning to urge the AICC to speed up the process of constituting a second SRC to look into the demand of separate Telangana. HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court on Monday upheld the election process to panchayat raj institutions and set aside the single judge's order declaring the election process defective. Protest against water scarcity

KADAPA: DWCRA women of Chennamarajupalle in Pendlimarry mandal staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate on Monday seeking mitigation of acute drinking water scarcity in their village.

KADAPA: Dalits of Masapet here staged a dharna before the Collectorate alleging blackmarketing of LPG cylinders by Indane Gas dealer and demanding shifting of the agency. Electric engineer in ACB net

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday arrested a Divisional Engineer of APSPDCL, Komaragiri Nanda Kumar, working at Kavali in Nellore, at his residence on charge of accepting Rs. 10,000 bribe from a contractor. The tainted money was recovered from an almirah in his house, a press release said. Staff Reporter

Council polling stations

KURNOOL: Polling stations were set up at 108 places for Legislative Council Elections in the district. Joint Collector Ramsankar Naik told the representatives of political parties that the final list of voters would be released on January 6.
