Dharmavant College posts six-wicket win over IIMC

Hyderabad: Dharmavant College recorded a six-wicket win against IIMC in the inter-college cricket tournament for the Ranga Reddy Trophy here on Thursday.

The scores: IIMC 120 (Md. Azeemuddin seven for 38) lost to Dharmavant College 121 for four (Md. Imran Khan 37 n.o.).

S.R. Patwari College 92 (Naveed five for 10) lost to Deccan College of Engg 93 for no loss (Firasat 42 n.o.).

SD Signodia College 212 (Mudassir Ahmed 56, Vishal Singh 51) bt Badruka 204 (Abbas 32, Rahul 40, Vijay 39, Sagar Singh five for 28).

Sikom Degree College recorded an eight-wicket win against Jagan College in the SV University inter-college cricket tournament in Tirupati, according to information received here.

The scores: Jagan College 100 (Praveen four for 11, Rakesh three for nine) lost to Sikom Degree College 104 for two (Alizer 56).

SRTS-II Bangalore wins

SRTS-II Bangalore recorded a five-wicket win against Eastern Region-II in the Powergrid inter-regional cricket tournament here.

The scores: Eastern Region-II 162 (Srihari 61) lost to SRTS-II Bangalore 163 for five (Kamal Pandian 54).

Western Region 148 for nine (R. Shinde 71, Kamal Verma four for 21) lost to NRTS-II, Jammu 149 for eight (J.P. Singh 55).

NRTS-I, Delhi 135 for seven lost to Corporate Centre, Gurgaon 139 for four (Mahesh Kumar 54 n.o.).

Bridge tournaments

BHEL hockey

BHEL will organise the fourth inter-institutional hockey tournament under the aegis of the Hyderabad Hockey Association from December 26 to 30 at BHEL Community Grounds, according to B. Phaneendra Kumar, Deputy General Manager (HR & Sports Co-ordinator).

Five teams including defending champions BHEL (R & D) and runner-up BHEL (Ramachandrapuram) will be involved in a round-robin format to vie for top honours.

Sub-junior archery

The Andhra Pradesh Archery Association will organise the 15th sub-junior inter-district championship for boys and girls (under-16) at Ongole in Prakasham from December 27 to 29. The selected archers will represent the State in the sub-junior National to be held in Raipur from January 17 to 21. Further details can be had from L. Tennikoit

Hyderabad will host the second Federation Cup and the 21st Sub-junior national tenni-koit championship at Victory Playground from December 23, according to B.K.Sitani, chairman of the organising committee. Tamil Nadu men and Andhra women are the defending champions in the Federation Cup.

It was also announced that the Andhra players who represented India in the World championship recently would be felicitated.
