Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: It afflicts most adolescents and some young adults too. No lasting cure has yet been found and there are too many conflicting views about its causes. Severe cases may leave behind lifelong scars.

St John's Medical College Hospital, in association with Atrimed Pharmaceutials Ltd, which specialises in ayurvedic medications and finding new herbal cures, is now about begin clinical trials to find effective herbal cures for acne.

The hospital is looking for young volunteers for the clinical trials that will last almost six weeks and will be followed by evaluations a week later. College students suffering from acne have been invited to attend.

The trials will be conducted on a "random double blind tests" basis, with patients and doctors unknown to each other.

This is being done with the aim of obtaining objective research findings. Volunteers for the six-week-long trials are requested to contact info@atrimed.com, or call 41123727/ 9448094322.
