`Birds and animals' feature at school fancy-dress competition

The one-week programme also included Christmas celebrations

BANGALORE: When children perform, spontaneity comes naturally to them. This was evident at the "Birds and Animals" programme conducted at St. Ann's High School, Rajajinagar, for its tiny tots of the nursery section, recently.

The children, who were dressed as birds and animals, sang and danced merrily. The one-week programme included a fancy dress competition and Christmas celebrations led by Santa Claus. The event was the brainchild of school chairman T. Balakrishna. He told the children to play, eat, read and sleep well, and to enjoy childhood thoroughly. "The country looks to you to become the leaders of tomorrow," he said.

Sports day

Kendriya Vidyalaya (DRDO) held its annual sports day recently. Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee Elangovan was the chief guest and declared the sports meet open. Wrestling coach T.R. Swamy was the guest of honour.

The programme began with a colourful march-past, followed by a drill display by the students of the primary section. The sports events were interspersed with aerobics and yoga demonstrations. The grand finale was a gymnastics show.

Annual day

India International School, Chikka Bellandur, celebrated its annual day recently. It was a day of fun and frolic for the students. The programme, which included dance, drama and music presentations, enthralled the audience.

Justice K. Sridhar Rao of the Karnataka High Court was the chief guest and inaugurated the celebrations. He advised the students to strive for all-round excellence. Former Air Officer , Indian Air Force, Air Marshal B.K. Pandey, was the guest of honour. Former Minister J. Alexander was present.

The cultural programme evoked great appreciation from the audience.

A Hawaiian dance was performed, which was a riot of colours.
