Bangalore: The Nandini Layout police have arrested five persons on charges of selling brown sugar on the premises of a pharmacy college. The police reportedly recovered one kg of brown sugar, a few packets of chilli powder, an iron rod and two cars from them. Police claimed the accused Manjunath (26), Yatish (26), Prithiraj (27), Muddegowda (27) and Lokesh (20) had been selling the narcotic substance in several colleges of the city.
Knocked down
A vegetable vendor was killed when he was run over by a truck near an automobile showroom in Kalasilapalyam on Monday morning. According to police, the truck had come to download vegetables in the city market. After downloading the material Rehamatullah, the driver, started to take the vehicle in reverse. In the process he knocked down Raju (26), a vegetable vendor. Raju died on the spot, police said.
