16-year-old boy kidnapped

BANGALORE: A 16-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped from Koramangala on Monday afternoon.

According to police, Irfan, a school dropout, had left his house. After a few hours that a person reportedly called Irfan's father, who runs a construction business, on his mobile phone and allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs. 20 lakh. The Kormangala police have registered a case.

Robbed

Four persons reportedly entered the house of a 56-year-old woman and made away with her car, jewellery and cash in Tejaswini Nagar in Hulimavu police station limits on Sunday night.

Police said Nalini Challam was staying alone in her house.

Around 9 p.m. Ms. Challam, who works as a travel agent, returned from work. After she entered her house, a person repeatedly pressed the calling bell and told her that petrol was leaking from her car.

When Ms. Challam opened the door, four persons reportedly forcefully entered inside. They tied her to a chair with a telephone cable.

The miscreants then ransacked the house and got hold of gold jewellery worth Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 60,000 and two mobile phones.

They later drove away in her car.

Burglary

A house of an advocate was burgled in Judicial Officers' Colony in Sanjay Nagar on Sunday.

According to police, Ajay left along with his family members to Bannerghatta National Park in the afternoon. When he returned in the night he found that some persons had entered his house and made away with cash and gold jewellery all estimated at Rs. 3 lakh.

In another incident, the house of Seshaiah on CBI Road in R.T. Nagar police station limits was burgled on Saturday night.

Burglars made away with gold ornaments and cash all worth Rs. 1.20 lakh.

According to police, the incident occurred when Seshaiah went for prayer in a church near his house.
