AWARD FOR GROWTH: Canara Bank Chairman and Managing Director M.B.N. Rao accepting Niryat Bandhu Award for 2004-05 from Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath (right) in New Delhi on Tuesday.
BANGALORE: Canara Bank was on Tuesday honoured with the Niryat Bandhu gold trophy for 2004-05 and silver trophy for 2003-04 by the Federation of Indian Export Organisation for the outstanding contribution made to the country's export growth by assisting exporters. Canara Bank Chairman and Managing Director M.B.N. Rao received the awards from Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Kamal Nath at a function held in New Delhi. Canara Bank was one of the first banks to start Forex operations in 1953 by opening its first Foreign Department at Mumbai.
