CHENNAI : A Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) of the Transport Department was injured while conducting a vehicular check at Anna Nagar on Thursday evening. The injured official was admitted to a hospital for treatment. K. Mohanram, Regional Transport Officer (Enforcement), Chennai Zone, said following complaints that old autorickshaws were plying on the city roads without proper documents, four MVIs conducted a check at Anna Nagar. Around 4.45 p.m. the inspectors stopped an autorickshaw with registration number TSJ 7065. On check, it was found that he was not having a permit, registration certificate and the insurance papers for the vehicle.
