CHENNAI : There is no concrete evidence or a clear clue yet on the kidnap and brutal murder of the 11-year-old Aravind, said Commissioner of Police Letika Saran here on Thursday. Speaking to reporters, she said ``we have formed special teams to nab the gang, but so far we have not yet succeeded in zeroing in on the accused. Investigations are under way at various levels. We are gathering all information about the boy, his family members, relatives and friends'', she said. Later, highly placed sources told The Hindu that police had latched on to some definite clues on the Aravind murder case and are working on them. Soon, ``we hope to resolve the case'', they added.
New Year eve
On the arrangements made for the New Year eve celebrations, the Commissioner said citizens were welcome to have fun, but definitely not on the road. ``We will take stern action against erring drivers and drunken driving or eve teasing'', she said. Adequate police would be posted at all vantage points. The traffic police have already started the exercise of booking cases against over-speeding and drunken driving. The Commissioner hoped the public would cooperate in peaceful conduct of the celebrations.
