Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Friday in Manali area including Napalayam high tension and low tension industrial services and Manali 11 KV HT and LT industrial services between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work. Power supply will also be suspended in Flower bazaar, Rattan Bazaar, Frazer Bridge Road, Military quarters and Evening bazaar; Villivakkam, Sidco area and Ayanavaram under ICF; parts of Foreshore Estate - Demonte Street, Dooming Kuppam, Srinivasapuram, LIG and MIG block, Santhome High Road, Kuil Thottam and Andu Street; Pensioners Lane in Stanely areas; parts of Vallalar Nagar including East Cemetary Road, Telugu Chetty Street and Bishop Lane Housing Board; R.K. Mutt Road, Pilliar Koil, Vathiayar Annamalai, Singari and Mutharam streets in Luz area on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Eye camp

About 100 patients were screened at an eye camp hosted by Hindu Mission Hospital at East Irumbuliyur on Wednesday. Twentyone persons were referred for eye surgeries.

About 100 villagers were screened at a free eye camp hosted jointly by Chennai Agarwal's Eye Hospital and Sevalaya at Kasuva village near Thiruninravur on Wednesday.

`Sindhi culturals'

Students showcased their skills through various events such as group dance, mimicry, skit and mime show at the `Sindhi Culturals' hosted at Sindhi College last week.

Wisdom Medical Research Foundation's Punnar Jeevan Project targeted at rehabilitation of alcoholics and drug addicts has served 100 patients in three years. The foundation offers 24-hour helpline service on alcoholics and drug addiction problems.
