Engineers' plea

The Karnataka Jala Mandali Engineers Association has requested the Government to entrust water supply and maintenance of urban local bodies to the water board. Their other demands include extension of financial powers and administration to the board, decentralisation of power and comprehensive transfer policy.

Applications invited

Karnataka Janapada Parishat has invited applications for the Janapada Gita Yuva Prathiba Puraskara for 2007.

The award will be given to the winner of a competition to be held on the parishat premises on January 20. It will be given away at a function to be held in February. For details, call Ph: 23605033.

Staging of play

Kriyative Theatre will stage Laxmi Chandrashekar's solo play "Singarevva mathu aramane," which is an adaptation of Chandrashekara Kambara's novel ,at 7.30 p.m. on Friday at Ranga Shankara.

Yoga classes

Rasthrotthana Shareerika Shikshana Kendra will be starting the 82nd batch of the four-month beginners' course in "yogasana" and "pranayama" from January second week. Classes will be held on the kendra's premises in Jayanagar 4th Block. For details, call Ph: 22441486.

Yagna

Sharada Kala Kendra and Shri Jagadish Family Foundation will conduct "Srimadvadiraja Gana Gnana Yagna" from December 31 to January 7. Bhadragiri Achutadas will speak on "Sri Sadguru Vadiraja's contributions" every day between 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. during the eight-day programme.
