BANGALORE: The Dharma Prachara Parishad of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has organised various religious and cultural programmes on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi and New Year at its premises in Vyalikaval. The darshan of the deity would be allowed from 5.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. There will be nadaswara recital by Ashok at 7 a.m.; Thiruppavai discourse at 8 a.m. and Vishnusahasranama and Geetha Parayana by Vatsala Rao and group at 9 a.m. Swami Narayananda Saraswathi of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor, will deliver a discourse at 9 a.m., followed by classical vocal recital by M.G. Deepika at 10 a.m. bhajans at 11 a.m., saxophone recital by Sridhar Sagar at noon and classical music by Sanjaynag at 3.30 a.m. Ganesh Kumaresh and group from Chennai will render violin at 6.30 p.m. On Sunday, Sri Rangapriya Deshikendra Mahaswami will inaugurate the Mahabharatha Jnana Yajna discourse series at 10 a.m. A.V. Prasanna, K.G. Subraya Sharma, Vasudeva Rao, S. Ranganath, V.R. Varadaraj, V. Ashokacharya and Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya will deliver discourse during the day till 7 p.m. Santha Bhadragiri Achyuta Das will deliver the valedictory address and Sri Abhaya Chaitanya Swami will bless the occasion at 7 p.m.
New Year's Day
Day one of 2007 will feature Nadaswara by Ashok at 6 a.m., Thiruppavai discourse by Ananthalakshmi at 7 a.m., Andal dance ballet at 9.30 a.m., classical music by Nandini at 10.30 a.m. and bhajans and devotional songs at noon and 2 p.m. A special musical evening featuring Anasuya Devi and group is arranged at 6 p.m.
