"Bird race"

Swathi Shivanand

BANGALORE: Bird enthusiasts can get ready for a different kind of `race.'

HSBC India is holding a dawn-to-dusk event, where teams of bird-watchers will spend the entire day recording as many species of birds as possible. They will also learn about the finer points of bird watching from experts. Later, all teams will meet at a venue over dinner and an interactive tête-à-tête.

Plans are underway to hold this first ever "Bangalore Bird Race" on February 11, 2007. The race will be fifth in the series of India Bird Races, which started in Hyderabad on November 26.

Registration will begin from the first week of January. For further details, visit www.indiabirdraces.com.
